Fall and Winter is an often overlooked, but perfect time to get some seedlings in the ground. The shortening days, cool nights, and increase of rain in most parts of the country lends well to transplant success. In the South, you can safely plant pretty much all fall, all winter, and into mid-spring. The further north you go the window gets smaller, but generally you plant Fall and Spring, and not during the winter because the ground is frozen. Compared to waiting until late winter or early spring to plant, transplanting seedlings during the fall and early winter allows them much more time to root in before the next summer’s drought…this is a huge PLUS considering the droughty summers we’ve been having lately.

Trees arrived packaged wonderfully and in tip top shape. I will be ordering more plants from Nativ in the future.
Received my trees in a sturdy box and tightly packaged by species! Had some cold, wet weather come in that delayed my planting but I'm expecting to get them in ground mid February. At 62, I may not see them all produce while I'm still able to hunt but hopefully they will for younger hunters to appreciate!
I ordered the Wildlife Fruit Tree package and it was shipped and arrived in Mobile, AL is one day. The trees were packaged such that there would be minimal disturbance during shipping. They were 18-24 inches tall, and had excellent root systems. I was more than impressed with them. I was so happy with my purchase, I mentioned it to one of my buddies who also placed an order that will be arriving today. Persimmons came with black roots, looked dead, have them potted but will have to wait to see if they leaf out, other trees were fine
