Every knowledgeable deer (and deer hunter) knows the only thing better than having a loaded persimmon dropping her sweet treats is having a GROVE of “simmons” to choose from. Those single trees are great but it seems the deer don’t go too far out of their way for just one tree. If you really want to bring ‘em in close from great distances, establish patches of trees to see some real results. Since persimmons can produce fruit on small stature trees, you may also want to plan ahead by planting a faster growing tree to hang a stand in nearby.
With the help of a proper planting job, tree tubes, and maintenance, a persimmon tree on an average site with plenty of sun can begin producing fruit in six to ten years. Considering the male to female ratio is usually 1:1, we recommend planting at least ten trees per patch to get enough fruiters to really draw ‘em in.

I’ve ordered several different trees from Nativ Nurseries in the last years. All plants have arrived healthy and in good shape. The persimmons I planted even in the Texas Hill Country have all survived.
Persimmon and Sawtooth Oak
Great service, and seedlings were even a big larger and heartier than I expected. Will definitely order more, maybe even this season if they don't run out.
I ordered three persimmon trees and I had one to die. But I will still plan on ordering from them again.
Trees were received in good condition little bit on the small side I thought we'll see once how they grow
Planted fall 22
Bought 10 seedlings last fall planted, tubed and ready to go in central New York then this spring they all leafed out and looked great! Then a late frost came through followed up by drought, killed 7 and now I’m down to 3! I won’t blame the company or the tree just Mother Nature giving me the middle finger I will be buying more to replace the ones that didn’t make it !
